"Everyone remembers their first. However, most people's firsts do not include a Most Valuable Player award. As the end of the 2009 NBA season was nearing, LeBron was a shoe-in for MVP (no pun intended). Suggested by and with the help of Worldwide Wes to obtain a pair of LeBron's size 16 shoes, I began early to create this pair of Air Forces to commemorate his first (of many) league MVP honors. The inspiration behind the shoe came directly from his numerous statistical accomplishments from the season.
On the morning of the award ceremony I threw stuff in my car and traveled across two states to make it to Akron, Ohio, just as the MVP press conference was beginning. I stood next to his Cleveland Cavalier teammates until all of the presentations, speeches, and interviews were concluded. As his old high school gym slowly began to empty, Uncle Wes brought me over to present LeBron his special, 1-of-1 sneakers to commemorate the occasion. LeBron loved the shoes and placed them on stage next to his newly acquired MVP hardware. It was awesome" -T.WAY
